Proclaiming Christ to Every Person in order to Present Every Person Mature in Christ.
What is the Gospel?
The word gospel means "good news," and it is the heart of the Christian faith. At its core, the gospel is the story of God's love for humanity and His plan to rescue us through Jesus Christ.
The Problem: Our Separation from God
Every human being has fallen short of God’s perfect standard. This separation is caused by sin—our tendency to reject God’s ways and live for ourselves. The Bible says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). The result of this sin is spiritual death and eternal separation from God.
The Solution: Jesus Christ
God, in His great love, provided a way to restore what was broken. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to live the perfect life we could not live and to die the death we deserved. On the cross, Jesus took the punishment for our sins. His resurrection three days later demonstrated His victory over sin and death, offering new life to all who trust in Him.
The Invitation: A Personal Relationship
The gospel is not just information—it’s an invitation. God invites us to turn from our sin and place our faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Through this, we are forgiven, reconciled to God, and given the gift of eternal life. As the Bible promises, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
Why It Matters
The gospel is not just about what happens after we die; it transforms our lives here and now. Through Jesus, we find purpose, peace, and the power to live a new life.
