Highland Baptist Church is blessed to have Pastor Matt Gay leading our congregation since December 2019. Matt is married to his wife, Desirray, and they have three wonderful children. A graduate of Boyce College and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Matt has a deep passion for preaching God’s Word and shepherding God’s people.

Serving bivocationally, Matt demonstrates a heart for faithful ministry both within the church and in the local community. His love for the gospel drives him to see lives transformed and to foster meaningful connections that reflect Christ’s love.

When he’s not serving, Matt enjoys spending time with his family, reading, the outdoors, and sports - watch out for that Tennessee orange! His leadership and dedication are a testament to God’s faithfulness, and we are grateful to have him at Highland Baptist Church.
